Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Mediterranean Ground Beef
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add 1 diced onion and sauté for about 3-5 minutes until soft and golden brown.
  3. Incorporate 1 pound of ground beef, break it apart, and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and no longer pink.
  4. Mix in 1 teaspoon each of cumin, cinnamon, allspice, paprika, and oregano, with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir well and toast slightly for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Pour in 1 cup of tomato sauce and simmer for 3-5 minutes until heated through.
