Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the tops off the large yellow onions and hollow them out, leaving half an inch of onion flesh.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and brown the ground beef or lamb for 6-8 minutes. Stir in cooked rice and mix with parsley, mint, cinnamon, and oregano.
  3. Pack the filling into each hollowed onion tightly, avoiding air pockets. Arrange in a baking dish.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for about 50 minutes until the onions are tender and edges are caramelized.
  5. Remove from oven, let rest, then drizzle with lemon juice and serve with tzatziki sauce.
