For the Marinade
  • 1 pound Flank Steak can substitute with skirt steak or sirloin
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Ginger minced
  • 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce or gluten-free tamari
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil can substitute with olive oil and sesame seeds
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper freshly ground
For Garnish
  • 2 stalks Green Onions can substitute with chives

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • Grill or Skillet
  • Cutting board

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together minced ginger, low-sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and freshly ground black pepper until well combined.
  2. Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the prepared marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s thoroughly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the steak marinates, preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
  4. Once preheated, remove the flank steak from the marinade and carefully place it on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  5. After cooking, transfer the flank steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
  6. Slice the rested flank steak against the grain into thin strips and garnish with sliced green onions.
