Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by washing 3-4 ripe peaches thoroughly under cool water. Slice the peaches into wedges and carefully remove the pits, aiming for uniform slices to ensure even cooking.
- In a large skillet, set over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter and allow it to melt completely.
- Once the butter is melted, add in 1/4 cup of brown sugar to the skillet. Stir continuously for about 2 minutes until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Carefully place the peach slices into the skillet, ensuring they are evenly spaced to cook properly. Let them caramelize undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes.
- Gently turn the peach slices over using a spatula or tongs and allow them to cook on the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
- Once both sides are caramelized, stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, if desired.
- After a couple of minutes, remove the skillet from heat. Spoon the caramel sauce over the warm peaches and serve immediately.
