Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Wash the Persian or Kirby cucumbers thoroughly under cold water and slice them into ⅓-inch rounds or cut them lengthwise into spears.
  2. In a medium bowl or a large mason jar, combine 1 cup of white vinegar or apple cider vinegar with 1 cup of water. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoon of salt, then stir until completely dissolved.
  3. Carefully add the sliced cucumbers into the brine mixture. If using garlic, smash a few cloves and toss them in as well.
  4. Cover the jar tightly with a lid or plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for maximum flavor.
