Method
 

Cake Preparation

  3. Add eggs, sunflower oil, sour cream, and vanilla extract to dry ingredients; mix until just combined.
  4. Gradually pour in hot water, mixing gently until smooth; batter will be thin.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Ganache and Glaze Preparation
  1. Heat heavy cream and corn syrup until simmering; pour over dark chocolate and stir until smooth.
  2. Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form; fold into ganache to create a decadent filling.
  3. For the glaze, heat cream, pour over semisweet chocolate, let sit, then stir until smooth.
Assembly
  1. Spread half of the ganache over the cooled cake and chill for at least 2 hours.
  2. Once chilled, pour glaze over the cake, allowing it to cascade down the sides.
  3. Chill the decorated cake for 30 minutes, then dust with cocoa powder before serving.
