Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes. Stir in diced onion and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add minced garlic, then mix in marinara sauce, crumbled bacon, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour to create a roux and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually stir in the whole milk until thickened, about 5 minutes. Mix in Parmesan cheese and garlic powder.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9x13” baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce. Layer noodles, followed by béchamel, mozzarella, and cheddar. Repeat until ingredients run out, finishing with cheese and Parmesan on top.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Allow lasagna to rest for 10 minutes before slicing to set the layers.
