Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat together ½ cup unsalted butter and ¾ cup brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Fold in 1 cup of mashed bananas and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, alternating with ½ cup of plain yogurt.
  6. Gently fold in ½ cup of walnuts or pecans. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Sprinkle reserved nuts on top and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Drizzle with warm maple syrup.
  9. Slice and serve after the bread has completely cooled.
