  • 8 ounces cream cheese Can substitute with ricotta for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Mozzarella can be used as a milder alternative.
  • 1 tablespoon herbs (dried or fresh) Fresh parsley or basil preferred.
For the Dough
  • 1 package puff pastry or crescent dough Ensure not to overfill.
  • 1 large egg For egg wash.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out your puff pastry or crescent dough into a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Evenly spread the cream cheese over the rolled-out dough, leaving about a half-inch border.
  4. Layer the shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, and herbs on top of the cream cheese.
  5. Roll the dough tightly from one end to form a log and pinch the edges to seal.
  6. Slice the log into approximately 1-inch thick pinwheels.
  7. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the pinwheels cut side up.
  8. Beat an egg and brush it over the tops of each pinwheel.
  9. Bake the pinwheels for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.
