Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x5 inch loaf pan by greasing it with unsalted butter and lining with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash 3-4 ripe bananas until smooth. Add the melted butter, granulated sugar, egg, and a splash of vanilla extract, stirring until fully integrated.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet banana mixture using a spatula.
- Once combined, fold in your chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. If desired, sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
For best results, use very ripe bananas and avoid overmixing the batter. Store in an airtight container to keep it moist.
