  • loaf pan
  • Mixing bowls

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x5 inch loaf pan by greasing it with unsalted butter and lining with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, mash 3-4 ripe bananas until smooth. Add the melted butter, granulated sugar, egg, and a splash of vanilla extract, stirring until fully integrated.
  4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet banana mixture using a spatula.
  5. Once combined, fold in your chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. If desired, sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
