Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions and pour into the springform pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  3. Lower the oven temperature to 325°F (160°C).
  4. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Add vanilla, eggs, sour cream, and heavy cream.
  5. Pour the cheesecake mixture over the cooled brownie base, swirl half the caramel sauce on top.
  6. Bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, until set but jiggles slightly in the center.
  7. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside with the door ajar for about 1 hour.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to chill.
  9. Before serving, top with whipped cream, remaining caramel sauce, and chocolate shavings.
