Ingredients

For the Peach Mixture
  • 4 medium Fresh Chopped Peaches Approximately 4 medium peaches needed for that sweet, fruity flavor.
  • 2 cups Cold Water Use 2 cups for simmering and 2 cups for mixing to achieve the right consistency.
  • 0.5 cups Sugar Start with ½ cup to enhance sweetness; feel free to substitute with monk fruit or honey if desired.
For the Lemonade
  • 1 cup Lemon Juice Brings the essential tang that perfectly complements the sweet peaches.
  • Ice Essential for serving, it keeps your homemade peach lemonade extra refreshing.
For Garnishing
  • Fresh Mint (optional) Adds a lovely touch of freshness and an inviting aroma to your drink.

Equipment

  • Medium bowl
  • Medium Saucepan
  • fine mesh sieve
  • large bowl or pitcher

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by washing and chopping approximately four medium ripe peaches. Remove the pits but leave the skins on for added flavor and nutrition. Place the chopped peaches into a medium bowl.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped peaches with 2 cups of cold water and ½ cup of sugar. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Stir occasionally.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the peaches to soften until they become mushy and fragrant.
  4. After simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  5. Once the peach mixture is chilled, take a fine mesh sieve and place it over a large bowl or pitcher. Pour the peach mixture through the sieve to extract all the sweet juices.
  6. To your strained peach juice, add the remaining 2 cups of cold water along with 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir well to combine and serve over ice.
