Prepare the Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk with sugar and dry active yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Mix in all-purpose flour and softened butter. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 3 hours or until doubled in size.
Make the Vanilla Cream Filling
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream, sugar, and cornstarch. Stir continuously for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
- Once thickened, remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
Assemble the Buns
- Punch the risen dough down and roll it out to ½ inch thick on a floured surface. Cut into 3-inch squares.
- Spoon a dollop of strawberry jam and a tablespoon of vanilla cream filling into the center. Pinch corners to seal.
Prepare the Streusel Topping
- Mix together flour, sugar, and softened butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over each assembled bun.
Bake
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
- Let the buns cool on a wire rack for about 10 minutes before serving dusted with powdered sugar.

Notes
For best results, ensure your yeast is fresh and milk is warm but not hot. Store properly to maintain fluffiness.
