  • 1 large Onion Diced
  • 4 cloves Garlic Crushed
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Minced
  • 1/2 cup Rice Wine Vinegar Can substitute with apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil Or sunflower oil for milder flavor
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce Low-sodium or coconut aminos recommended
  • 1 cup Beef Stock Or chicken stock
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Can substitute with honey
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes Or gochujang for more authentic spice
For Thickening
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch Or arrowroot powder
  • 1/4 cup Water

Method
 

Instructions for Cooking
  1. Combine diced onion, crushed garlic, minced ginger, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, beef stock, brown sugar, and red chili flakes in the slow cooker.
  2. Cut the chuck beef into bite-sized cubes and add to the sauce mixture.
  3. Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours.
  4. Whisk cornstarch and water together in a bowl until smooth.
  5. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the slow cooker near the end of cooking.
  6. Increase heat to high and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Serve garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
