- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mash the very ripe bananas until mostly smooth in a large mixing bowl.
- Add melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla to the mashed bananas and mix until fully combined.
- Sprinkle flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt over the wet mixture and gently fold until combined.
- Fold in three-quarters of the chocolate chips, reserving the rest for topping.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly, and scatter reserved chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out and cool completely on a wire rack before slicing into 16 bars.
