Step-by-Step Instructions for Pecan Pie Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter pecan cake mix, softened butter, light brown sugar, eggs, and water. Mix for about 2 minutes.
  3. Gently fold in the chopped pecans into the batter and pour into the greased pan, spreading evenly.
  4. Bake the cake base for about 25 minutes until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together softened butter, eggs, sugar, light corn syrup, milk, and reserved cake mix until smooth.
  6. Once the cake base is done, pour the topping mixture evenly over it and bake for an additional 30 to 35 minutes.
