  • 4 oz prosciutto use mortadella as a substitute
  • 4 oz provolone cheese Americano cheese can be used for milder taste
For the Dressing
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Greek yogurt can be a healthier option
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil avocado oil is a great substitute
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar white wine vinegar can be a suitable alternative
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano fresh oregano or basil can be used instead
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all ingredients on a large cutting board.
  2. Finely chop the shredded lettuce, red onion, tomato, and pepperoncini into small, bite-sized pieces.
  3. Chop the salami, capicola, prosciutto, and provolone cheese into small cubes.
  4. Transfer all the chopped ingredients and meats into a large mixing bowl.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, extra-virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour the dressing over the chopped mixture and stir well.
  7. Spoon the mixture into small sub rolls or your choice of bread.
