Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with unsalted butter.
- Tear your sweet bread into 1-inch pieces and scatter them evenly in the baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together large eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Pour the custard mixture over the torn bread pieces, gently pressing down to ensure they are well submerged. Soak for 30 minutes.
- After soaking, gently stir in cubed cream cheese and dark chocolate chunks until evenly distributed.
- Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chunks on top of the pudding mixture.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45-55 minutes.
- Once baked, allow to cool for 15-20 minutes before serving.
