  • 1 teaspoon Poultry Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Flour Or gluten-free flour
  • 2 cups Milk Or non-dairy milk
  • 2 cups Cubed Bread For topping, best if day-old

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large baking dish, combine chopped onion, carrots, celery, wild rice, and chicken broth. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add flour, salt, and poultry seasoning. Cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk until thick.
  4. Remove foil from the baking dish, stir in cubed chicken and the creamy sauce.
  5. Toss cubed bread in remaining melted butter and sprinkle over the mixture.
  6. Increase oven to 450°F (232°C) and bake uncovered for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes, garnish as desired, and serve.
