  • 4 cups shredded green cabbage can substitute with bok choy or Napa cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil or vegetable oil if out
  • 1 medium onion diced, white or yellow
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar apple cider vinegar can be used
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce or oyster sauce
  • to taste sriracha optional for spice
  • 2 scallions green onions sliced for garnish
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger; sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  3. Introduce the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart, and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  4. Mix in the shredded cabbage, followed by soy sauce, rice vinegar, and hoisin sauce. Stir and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and sriracha if desired, then serve garnished with green onions.
