  • 1 lb Pizza Dough store-bought recommended
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese or Monterey Jack
  • 1 large Egg or milk for lighter color
Optional Additions
  • 1 cup Vegetables chopped bell peppers or corn
  • 1 can Black Beans as vegetarian option
  • 1 cup Spicy Cheese use pepper jack

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned, about 7-10 minutes.
  4. Stir in salsa, taco seasoning, and water; simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Unroll pizza dough on a floured surface, roll into a rectangle about 12x15 inches.
  6. Sprinkle cheddar cheese down the center of the dough, add beef mixture, and top with more cheese.
  7. Cut 1-inch strips on each side of the dough and fold them over the filling to create a braid.
  8. Whisk together the egg and a splash of water and brush over the braid.
  9. Bake for 22-25 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  10. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing; serve warm with toppings.
