  1. Melt 1 cup of unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  2. While butter cools, bring 1 large egg to room temperature by soaking it in warm water for 5 minutes.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp cornstarch, 1 tsp baking soda, ½ tsp baking powder, and ½ tsp salt.
