Step-by-Step Instructions
- Heat your milk until it reaches 110°F and sprinkle the active dry yeast over it. Let it rest for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, white sugar, and salt. Cut in the softened butter until it resembles small lumps.
- Pour the activated yeast mixture into the dry ingredients, along with the beaten egg and mashed bananas. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Prepare the filling by beating the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle. Spread the filling evenly and sprinkle with sliced bananas. Roll tightly and cut into 12 slices.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 20 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F.
- Bake for 28-33 minutes until golden brown on top.
- For icing, beat together softened cream cheese and butter, gradually adding powdered sugar and vanilla until creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese icing over the warm rolls.
